Just alil something I've been tinkering with the past two weeks. After seeing the second trailer for Abe Lincoln Vampire Hunter, I took notice of the awesome gun axe he uses. Of course I said, "I can make that!" and so I did. The handle is the only thing not scratch made, it is actual Hickory wood and was purchased at Home Depot for a whole $13 dollars.Unfortunately, I had to strip the resin gel coat with some serious sanding before I could stain it. The brass mechanism, spring plate and trigger is all scratch made from good old brass and steel sheeting. The axe head itself is a real marvel, I first hand sculpted it from polystyrene, coated it with a high end automotive polyester body filler and then finally sanded it to shape. Basically, its made from plastic, lol. After all the sanding and shaping was done I used a 4 step texturing process to create the raw metal look and feel. If you were wondering, YES it does work. The axe head is spring loaded when a hidden secondary trigger is pulled like in the movie trailer. I posted this same picture on the official Facebook site for the movie in their contest, so please go and vote "Like" on mine! Link to the Facebook voting site is here [link]
Oh my gosh, someone just had to build it. I've got to tell you the plot line fir that movie seems a bit cheesy, but I guess the idea is unique. Nice replica, BTW.
It's funny how people credit Abraham for a quote that Jesus learned him in the scripts. an graduated american at that era must have read the bible while the journalists obviously has not, that's the price of ignorance when only visiting church is enough for the lazy ones instead of actually studying what you belive in.
That's a pretty impressive copy but do i remember wrong if i asked if the shaft of the axe where not supposed to be a tiny bit brighter?
Abraham Lincoln is probably one of the only real presidents we'll ever have in the United State's history, the other presidents are just following orders from the bureaucrats that are really controlling the U.S. government and it's nice to see that there is a fantasy movie based off of him or is it fantasy? *Trollface*
